Vina Tondonia Rioja Reserva 2012

Vibrant red in colour with subtle amber reflections, this wine shows elegance and maturity from extended ageing. The nose is fresh and refined, revealing delicate notes of vanilla and dried berries. On the palate it is rich, very dry, and smooth, with well-developed flavours, firm tannins, and excellent balance supported by bright acidity.

The blend is led by Tempranillo, complemented by Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo, adding complexity and structure. Aged for six years in barrel, with regular racking and traditional fining using fresh egg whites, the wine gains depth and polish before resting unfiltered in bottle.

This is a versatile and food-friendly wine, pairing beautifully with all styles of meat, and especially outstanding with roast lamb, such as a leg of new-season Welsh lamb scented with wild garlic, rosemary, and anchovies.
