Description

A distinguished right-bank Bordeaux from one of Saint-Émilion’s historic estates, Château La Dominique is a Grand Cru Classé with a refined yet generous character. Situated on the edge of the Pomerol appellation and neighbored by illustrious estates such as Cheval Blanc, Figeac and L’Evangile, this estate’s wines combine the plush fruit of Saint-Émilion with Pomerol-like elegance and depth.

Tasting Profile:
Brilliant ruby-red in the glass, La Dominique typically offers a rich aromatic bouquet of ripe red and black fruits — cherry, plum and cassis — along with subtle spice, floral nuances and hints of earthy complexity. On the palate the wine is medium-to-full-bodied with silky tannins, fresh acidity and layered flavors that balance fruit intensity with elegant structure.

Terroir & Winemaking:
The vineyard extends over deep clay-gravel, clay-limestone and sandy soils, with an average vine age of roughly 30+ years. Predominantly planted to Merlot with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the estate practices meticulous viticulture and traditional winemaking, with portions of the wine aged in French oak to enhance texture and complexity.

Food Pairing & Enjoyment:
La Dominique is delicious with rich roasted meats, braised beef, game, lamb and textured sauces, and also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses. While approachable in its youth, it has the structure to develop gracefully with a few years of cellaring
