Description
Delas Côte-Rôtie Seigneur de Maugiron 2020 is a distinguished expression of Syrah, sourced from both the Côte Brune and Côte Blonde, uniting power and finesse in classic Côte-Rôtie style. Produced in limited quantities, this cuvée reflects meticulous vineyard selection and traditional craftsmanship.
In the glass, it reveals a deep crimson colour. The nose is powerful yet refined, unfolding layers of blackcurrant and redcurrant, liquorice, and smoky nuances, subtly framed by well-integrated oak. On the palate, the wine is precise and elegant, built around a tightly knit tannic structure that delivers both concentration and silkiness. The balance is impeccable, with depth and delicacy carrying through to a long, poised finish.
Hand-harvested at peak maturity and vinified in open concrete tanks with careful extraction, the wine is aged for 14 to 16 months in new and one-year-old oak casks, enhancing complexity while preserving purity of fruit. A superb partner to fine meats, roast beef, game, truffles, and spicy stews. For optimal enjoyment, open 1–3 hours before serving and decant if cellared for more than five years.
