Porta Rossa Barolo DOCG Bricco Ambrogio 1998

A mature and elegant Barolo made from 100% Nebbiolo, sourced from the Bricco Ambrogio cru in Roddi, one of the recognised vineyard areas of the Barolo appellation. The warm exposure of the vineyard contributes richness and ripe-fruit character while retaining the structure and refinement expected from traditional Barolo.

The 1998 vintage offers a complex, evolved bouquet of roasted chestnut, dried plum, dark chocolate, nutmeg, dried herbs, leather and black truffle. On the palate, it is elegant and structured, with refreshing acidity, distinctive tannins and a remarkably long finish showing dried red rose and ripe cherry.
